NCPB seek first win as they con­front Black Mamba to­day

BY AGNES MAKHANDIA/ Na­tional Ce­re­als and Pro­duce Board’s men’s hand­ball team will be seek­ing to record their first win of the East and Cen­tral Africa Club Cham­pi­onship when they play Black Mamba in one of the two matches lined up at the Nyayo.

NCPB are bot­tom of the ta­ble in the four-team tour­ney, hav­ing lost two of their pre­vi­ous ties against do­mes­tic ri­vals Kenya De­fence force 18-26 and champs Rwanda Po­lice 29-32.

NCPB, coached by Paul Podu, will come up against the side which has won a match and lost one al­though they are tied sec­ond on stand­ing with KDF on two points, though the sol­diers en­joy a su­pe­rior goal dif­fer­ence.

Cham­pi­ons Rwanda Po­lice re­main un­beaten and are in pole po­si­tion with four points. NCPB coach Pudo said they will give the clash the se­ri­ous­ness it de­serves as they seek to record their first win of the tour­na­ment.

Black Mamba suc­cumbed to cham­pi­ons Rwanda Po­lice 40-38 on Wed­nes­day in their sec­ond match.
