State House has said 288 pri­mary schools in Laikipia county have been con­nected to elec­tric­ity while house­holds con­nected to elec­tric­ity have in­creased to 53,212 from 23,000 in 2013. In Ny­eri, all 388 pri­mary schools have been con­nected to elec­tric­ity and the num­ber of house­holds con­nected to elec­tric­ity has dou­bled to 119,000 from 60,900, while in Mu­rang’a 486 pri­mary schools, out of the 491, have been con­nected to elec­tric­ity. In Kirinyaga, all 212 pri­mary schools have elec­tric­ity.
