Ahadi Kenya launches Sh15m food pro­gramme

The Ahadi Kenya Trust has launched a Sh15 mil­lion feed­ing pro­gramme tar­get­ing vul­ner­a­ble mem­bers dur­ing the fes­tive sea­son in 10 coun­ties.

Ahadi chief ex­ec­u­tive Stan­ley Kamau said 10,000 house­holds will ben­e­fit in each county through the pro­gramme called ‘Chakula Kwa Wote’.

He said his or­gan­i­sa­tion has part­nered with the Lotto Kenya Foun­da­tion in the pro­gramme. “We want to feed vul­ner­a­ble Kenyans be­fore Christ­mas. These peo­ple will in­clude the or­phans, the aged, the sick and peo­ple liv­ing with dis­abil­ity,” Kamau said.

He spoke on Fri­day in Kam­a­tongu, Ny­eri county, dur­ing the launch of the pro­gramme. Kamau said they will also visit Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Isi­olo, Kil­ifi, Kwale, Ka­ji­ado and Narok, among other coun­ties. Lotto Kenya Foun­da­tion CEO Brian Walu­chio said the foun­da­tion as­sists in health, sports and ed­u­ca­tion.
