Wajir South MP Abdullahi Diriye in August urged the government to instal electricity in more towns. Diriye said electricity connection in Wajir South is below 20 per cent. He said this has hurt the growth of major towns in the constituency. Diriye said power should be extended from Dadaab to Sabuli town in Habaswein constituency, 52km from Dadaab town. He said this will serve other settlements along the way and will transform the lives of wananchi. “We all know how electricity can transform the lives of wananchi by spurring development.”
