Five teachers were yesterday arrested and locked up at Lang’ata police station after they were found conducting holiday tuition at House of Grace Church in Lang’ata.

The arrest followed a tip-off that teachers had been conducting holiday tuition for three weeks at the church premises. Education PS Belio Kipsang dispatched a team of Education officers to the school.

The team found the teachers holding holiday tuition for more than 50 students from various schools on Lang’ata Road.

The officials were accompanied by officers from Nyayo Stadium Police Post, led by Inspector Agnes Makau.

Quality assurance and standards officer John Okiya told the students to go home until January 4, when schools reopen. Okiya was with education officers Peter Kirika and Francis Kaitany.
