Stop construction of petrol station in our estate or we will sue – Runda residents
Runda residents have urged City Hall to stop the construction of a petrol station in the estate or face legal action.
Residents’ association chairman Daniel Ngobia yesterday accused the county of approving the construction despite assurances that the developer’s initial approval for change of user from residential to petrol service station had been cancelled. He said the county also disregarded the residents’ objections to the project. “We are dismayed to observe that the construction works are going on with a site sign board indicating approval by the county government,” Ngobia said.
In a letter dated October 10 and addressed to the county director of planning, Ngobia complained that the county did not follow the law in approving the structure. Residents say the position is not ideal for a station.
