JAPHET NTIBA New­paras­tatal to guide fish­ing

The Fish­eries PS said the Kenya Fish­eries Ser­vice will con­serve, man­age and de­velop Kenya’s fish­eries re­sources. Ntiba said the new paras­tatal will de­velop stan­dards for the man­age­ment of all fish­eries, aqua­cul­ture and fish­ing-re­lated ac­tiv­i­ties within the scope of an Act, which came into op­er­a­tion in Septem­ber. MWANGI WAIRIA Ma­nure shov­elled off grounds

The Mu­rang’a gov­ern­ment em­ploy­ees worked all through Sun­day to clear ma­nure from Mumbi Grounds, the Mu­rang’a Univer­sity Col­lege and Ihura Sta­dium ahead of Pres­i­dent Uhuru Keny­atta’s visit yes­ter­day. The ma­nure was dumped in Mumbi Grounds ahead of Kigumo MP Jam­leck Ka­mau’s launch for his gover­nor bid last Satur­day. See page 28

KEN WAFULA Ac­cused of rock­ing Ford Kenya

Kwanza MP Fer­di­nand Wany­onyi yes­ter­day said the Trans Nzoia sen­a­tor as­pi­rant has been re­ceiv­ing money from DP Wil­liam Ruto, via al­lies, to fi­nance ac­tiv­i­ties that would desta­bilise Ford Kenya. A fac­tion seeks to re­move Bun­goma Sen­a­tor Moses We­tang’ula as party leader. He has been named the pres­i­den­tial flag­bearer by an­other fac­tion. See page 37
