Adak launch school children’s scheme
BY STANLEY MAGUT/ Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya has rolled out sensitisation programme for school going kids in a move aimed at enlightening the children on the effects of drugs. Over 300 school kids were taken through the programme during Tuskys Wareng cross country in Eldoret over the weekend.
They were taught on the side effects of using drugs in sports and the reason they should always uphold the spirit of running and winning clean. Speaking during the function, Chief Executive Officer Adak Kiplimo Rugut, said it was salient to target young kids in order to tame the menace.
“Part of our programme is also to take this anti-doping campaign to schools. We need our children to know it is bad to take drugs in order to enhance performance,” Rugut said.
He said earlier enlightenment will inculcate the negative attitude towards the use of steroids hence winning the war against drugs in the game.
