Mental test for man linking Juma, DP
Psychiatrists will examine Douglas Nyakundi, the man who recently said the murder of businessman Jacob Juma was planned by persons working at the office of DP William Ruto. He was arrested on November 30 and held so police could investigate the latest twist in the murder case. Senior principal magistrate Charity Oluoch yesterday directed Nyakundi be taken for a psychiatric assessment. “I want this case to topped for five days because I want police to investigate it afresh. I have new evidence,” Nyakundi had said. He said he is a spy and a messenger at the DP’s office. He had given information to activist i Boniface Mwangi. He produced a hand-written affidavit and asked the magistrate to “read it and order police reinvestigate the case.” The case will be mentioned on December 21. He will remain at Kilimani police station.
