Men­tal test for man link­ing Juma, DP

Psy­chi­a­trists will ex­am­ine Dou­glas Nyakundi, the man who re­cently said the mur­der of busi­ness­man Ja­cob Juma was planned by per­sons work­ing at the of­fice of DP Wil­liam Ruto. He was ar­rested on Novem­ber 30 and held so po­lice could in­ves­ti­gate the lat­est twist in the mur­der case. Se­nior prin­ci­pal mag­is­trate Char­ity Olu­och yes­ter­day di­rected Nyakundi be taken for a psy­chi­atric as­sess­ment. “I want this case to topped for five days be­cause I want po­lice to in­ves­ti­gate it afresh. I have new ev­i­dence,” Nyakundi had said. He said he is a spy and a messenger at the DP’s of­fice. He had given in­for­ma­tion to ac­tivist i Boni­face Mwangi. He pro­duced a hand-writ­ten af­fi­davit and asked the mag­is­trate to “read it and or­der po­lice rein­ves­ti­gate the case.” The case will be men­tioned on De­cem­ber 21. He will re­main at Kil­i­mani po­lice sta­tion.
