Supreme Court ruling troubling, will cause instability
It is shocking and troubling that six judges of the Supreme Court can overturn the will of millions of Kenyans, using evidence that did not prove NASA’s case “beyond reasonable doubt”. The evidence does not prove that the will of the people, who lined up for hours, was subverted. Parliament should put in place laws that ensure the threshold for overturning a presidential election is higher. We cannot be overturning elections on flimsy evidence and technicalities as this will lead to uncertainty and instability in the future.
