Thirty-two-year-old Kiambu MCA aspirant William Mwangi was on Saturday buried at his home in Kabagare village, Lari constituency.

Mwangi was allegedly shot by Flying Squad officer Edward Manjulu at 3am on Sunday last week as he left Club U-Turn in Limuru town.

Revelers said a commotion ensued at 1am, when the officer demanded to drink beer on Mwangi’s tab, but his friends insisted he pay for his own drink. Manjulu was reportedly escorted out of the pub, but he lurked around, waited for Mwangi to leave, then shot him.

Mwangi’s wife Agnes Mukuiya said she is experiencing great sorrow.

“Why did the person who killed my husband have to do it? He robbed me of the father of my child, my lover and my best friend,” she said in her tribute.

Mukuiya continued, “I just want him to know I am in deep pain. I am suffering. Why let another person suffer?”

Manjulu will be charged today at the High Court in Kiambu.
