Learn from your mistakes, ensure fair polls, IEBC told

A cleric has urged the IEBC to learn from the mistakes it made during the August 8 polls and give Kenyans a credible presidential poll.

The Supreme Court on Friday nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reelection, citing malpractices.

Alliance of Registered Churches in Kenya chairman Bishop Samuel Welimo yesterday said, “To slide is not to fall. The IEBC must wake up and ensure the results of the repeat presidential polls are accepted by all and have no errors.”

NASA and a group of NGOs have said the IEBC team cannot be trusted to carry out the fresh election.

Welimo said, “I know it’s the very same IEBC team that will have to carry out the presidential polls and we are asking them to be sober and alert.”
