Mandago to lead Uhuru’s campaign in region
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago (pictured) has been picked by Jubilee to chair coordination of its campaigns in the region, ahead of a repeat of the presidential election.
On Friday, the Supreme Court ordered a repeat of the presidential election in 60 days.
Mandago was picked following a meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP William Ruto and all elected Jubilee leaders at State House, Nairobi, on Saturday.
The governor was reelected for a second term and Jubilee insiders say he has wide influence in the region.
“We have already hit the road and we are sure of winning again. We will prove wrong those who argue that we didn’t win,” Mandago told the Star on Saturday.
