Statement of the Problem

The Global Digest (English) - - FRONT PAGE -

There are various religious norms and standards in the world. It is complicated and not easy to adopt the common norms and standards of a particular religion for all people. The world community norms and standards are concerned more and more with social politics and the well being of its citizens. This world community’s norms and standards can also be a practical side of spirituality.

The problem is that some religious groups in certain countries do not conform to international standards. Particularly in Asia, we Christians are facing several problems in mingling with different religions among nearby and surrounding communities. The worst problem is that there are oppressive ruling systems in many countries, such as dictatorship and military ruling system. For example, in Myanmar, Christianity frequently faces trouble when encountering the majority Buddhists, which dominate the country with the backing of the strong military government.

Since those issues are encountering our day-to-day life amongst different societies as we are diverse peoples, however, we should keep trying and developing common norms and standards which are necessary for human society. It is a big challenge for our current times. In this perspective and in this situation, how can the Christian church can step forward and expose our norms and standards to the world
