Kuwaiti, Jor­da­nian aca­demic ties ‘strong’

Head of the Na­tional Bureau for Aca­demic Ac­cred­i­ta­tion and Ed­u­ca­tion Qual­ity As­sur­ance Dr Nouria Al-Awadhi said on Mon­day that the aca­demic co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Kuwait and Jor­dan is strong and solid.

Al-Awadhi made her re­marks to KUNA dur­ing a meet­ing with heads of the Jor­da­nian uni­ver­si­ties or­ga­nized by the Kuwaiti em­bassy in Jor­dan with the pres­ence of Kuwait’s Am­bas­sador to Jor­dan Dr Ha­mad Al-Duaij. She added that there are about 4,000 Kuwaiti stu­dents study­ing in var­i­ous of­fi­cial and pri­vate uni­ver­si­ties in Jor­dan.

She pointed out that Jor­dan has about 800 Kuwaiti stu­dents study­ing var­i­ous fields of medicine, ex­press­ing her pride of Jor­da­nian aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions for pro­vid­ing Kuwaiti stu­dents with aca­demic ed­u­ca­tion and de­vel­op­ing their abil­i­ties.

On her visit to Jor­dan, Al-Awadhi said that she is head­ing a Kuwaiti aca­demic del­e­ga­tion to Jor­dan to meet with the heads of Jor­da­nian uni­ver­si­ties and open new hori­zons of co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Kuwait and the Jor­da­nian aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions.

For his part, Jor­da­nian Min­is­ter of Higher Ed­u­ca­tion and Sci­en­tific Re­search Dr Adel Al-Twaisi praised the aca­demic co­op­er­a­tion be­tween Jor­dan and Kuwait and its role in en­hanc­ing broth­erly re­la­tions be­tween the two coun­tries to serve mu­tual in­ter­ests.

Mean­while, Kuwait’s am­bas­sador to Jor­dan, Dr Ha­mad Al-Duaij, stressed the im­por­tance of Kuwaiti-Jor­da­nian aca­demic co­op­er­a­tion and its role in achiev­ing sci­en­tific, cul­tural and eco­nomic re­la­tions that ben­e­fited the two na­tions, prais­ing the aca­demic level of Jor­da­nian uni­ver­si­ties.
