Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has requested Kuwait Municipality to take necessary measures to establish industrial wastewater treatment plants in Amghara, Sulaibiya and Sabhan industrial areas, reports AlShahed daily.

The authority stressed that the issue should be given due priority and importance in order to incorporate the project in compliance with the Environment Protection Law, which prohibits discarding industrial wastewater through rainwater drainage.

The law urges concerned authorities to establish special plants in these areas within a maximum of seven years from the effective date of the law in July 2014.
