‘Top-level reshuffle seen soon in Justice Ministry’
MEW to sack expats in 30 years service
KUWAIT CITY, July 27: Minister of Justice and State Minister for the National Assembly Affairs Dr Faleh Al-Azeb indicated that a reshuffle process can be expected soon in Ministry of Justice which will include a number of directors, supervisors and heads of departments in various sectors of the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily. He stressed that the reshuffle process will start after the vacant supervisory positions are filled and necessary legal procedures are taken.
Dr Al-Azeb affirmed
that he will not overstep the three aspects that form the basis for promotion to supervisory positions — seniority in the department, seniority in the sector and seniority in the ministry, assuring employees that those with the qualifications and seniority will be promoted to the supervisory positions.
The minister said a team from his office will follow up the execution of the directives in different sectors of the ministry especially the meetings that end with official minutes.
He revealed that he intends to appoint liaison officers at each sector in order to follow up the meetings and prepare weekly reports which would include problems and the reasons for any delay in following the instructions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electricity and Water announced its plan to terminate the services of expatriate employees who served for 30 years and more, stressing that all nationalities are covered in this decision without any exception, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting a reliable source.
He affirmed that the ministry will conduct a reshuffle process among all directors and heads of departments in the coming phase, clarifying that assistant undersecretaries will not be included this time.
The source revealed that integration of any sectors of the ministry will not occur in the current phase, and it will be dealt with later after the completion of the organizational structure in order to transform some sectors of the ministry into authorities under governmental administration and privatize some other sectors.
Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Saad Al-Kharaz affirmed his keenness to serve Kuwait, expressing appreciation for the decision taken by the Cabinet and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh to appoint him in the new position as a successor to the resigned undersecretary Dr Matar Al-Mutairi, reports Al-Rai daily.
Speaking to the daily, Al-Kharaz commended the tremendous efforts exerted by the former undersecretary Dr Al-Mutairi during his tenure.
