One hurt in Mirqab clinic fire

Fire broke out in the store of a den­tal clinic in Mirqab area op­po­site the Lib­er­a­tion Tower.

One per­son in­haled smoke and suf­fered breath­ing dif­fi­culty in the fire that started in the third floor of the 12-floor build­ing, re­sult­ing in a huge ma­te­rial loss.

A se­cu­rity source said the Op­er­a­tions Room of the In­te­rior Min­istry was no­ti­fied about the in­ci­dent and a team of fire­men ac­com­pa­nied by se­cu­rity op­er­a­tives and paramedics went to the scene.

The fire­men evac­u­ated the build­ing while paramedics re­ferred the af­fected per­son to a hospi­tal for treat­ment. The source of fire wasn’t im­me­di­ately known but a case was reg­is­tered for in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Mean­while, fire en­gulfed an ac­com­mo­da­tion for fe­male teach­ers lo­cated in Salmiya area.

A source said fire­men were able to con­trol the blaze that started at the kitchen of the 10-floor apart­ment build­ing af­ter evac­u­at­ing the ten­ants. There was no ca­su­alty.
