Mosque re­moval cab­i­net de­ci­sion

De­ci­sion is­sued af­ter con­sul­ta­tion

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Re­moval of the tem­po­rary mosque in Su­laibiya was a unan­i­mous de­ci­sion taken by the Cab­i­net in the pres­ence of HH the Prime Min­is­ter Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah and all min­is­ters, re­ports Al-Rai daily quot­ing Min­is­ter of So­cial Af­fairs and La­bor and State Min­is­ter for Eco­nomic Af­fairs Hind Al-Subaih.

Asked who is re­spon­si­ble for the re­moval of the mosque, AlSubaih stressed that she did not take the de­ci­sion as she is not the awqaf min­is­ter. She ex­plained the de­ci­sion was is­sued two months ago while Kuwait Mu­nic­i­pal­ity im­ple­mented it last week.

She re­it­er­ated that the Cab­i­net is­sued the de­ci­sion af­ter con­sul­ta­tions dur­ing its meet­ing two months ago with the premier and all min­is­ters in at­ten­dance. She also em­pha­sized the need to re­spect laws and min­is­te­rial res­o­lu­tions.
