Head of the Capital Municipality’s emergency team Zaid Al-Enezi indicated his intention to present a proposal to the Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi for blocking and suspending the files and licenses of shops and companies, which have street vendors registered under them, until documents are presented to prove their detained street vendors have left the country, reports Al-Rai daily.

He explained that the campaigns carried out by the emergency teams revealed the existence of a large number of marginal laborers who have been practicing illegal trading in random markets and on the streets without obtaining relevant licenses. Some of them trade in selling food items without holding health certificates, an issue that can pose a threat to the health of the consumers.

Al-Enezi revealed that the proposal obligates sponsors to follow up the laborers registered in their file, which will in turn help in fighting visa trafficking.
