Kuwait Dive Team affiliated to Environmental Voluntary Foundation, with the cooperation of Ras Al-Ard Club of Kuwait Public Transportation Company (KPTC), managed to lift a 24-footlong boat weighing three tons that had sunk near Ras Al-Ard Port after water infiltrated into it.
Head of the team Waleed Al-Fadhel said the team used air bags and a water pump to set the boat afloat and pull it, revealing that the team is working on recovering boats and sunken vessels directly in order to preserve the safety of the marine environment.
He indicated that the team has finished cleaning the waters of Kuwait Bay, and executed three environmental campaigns during which 20 tons of plastic and wood wastes were removed from the coasts of Ashirj, Doha, Shuwaikh and Kuwait Towers.
Al-Fadhel thanked Ministry of Education for involving Farwaniya guides in these campaigns in a voluntary manner to remove from the coasts wastes that are harmful to the marine and coastal environment. (KUNA)
