Kuwait Dive Team lifts sunken boat

Kuwait Dive Team af­fil­i­ated to En­vi­ron­men­tal Vol­un­tary Foun­da­tion, with the co­op­er­a­tion of Ras Al-Ard Club of Kuwait Pub­lic Trans­porta­tion Com­pany (KPTC), man­aged to lift a 24-foot­long boat weigh­ing three tons that had sunk near Ras Al-Ard Port af­ter wa­ter in­fil­trated into it.

Head of the team Waleed Al-Fad­hel said the team used air bags and a wa­ter pump to set the boat afloat and pull it, re­veal­ing that the team is work­ing on re­cov­er­ing boats and sunken ves­sels di­rectly in or­der to pre­serve the safety of the ma­rine en­vi­ron­ment.

He in­di­cated that the team has fin­ished clean­ing the wa­ters of Kuwait Bay, and ex­e­cuted three en­vi­ron­men­tal cam­paigns dur­ing which 20 tons of plas­tic and wood wastes were re­moved from the coasts of Ashirj, Doha, Shuwaikh and Kuwait Tow­ers.

Al-Fad­hel thanked Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion for in­volv­ing Far­waniya guides in th­ese cam­paigns in a vol­un­tary man­ner to re­move from the coasts wastes that are harm­ful to the ma­rine and coastal en­vi­ron­ment. (KUNA)
