Kuwait and IATA sign agreement on promoting civil aviation cooperatio­n

Deal covers safety procedures

GENEVA, Oct 18, (KUNA): Kuwait and the Internatio­nal Air Transport Associatio­n (IATA) on Wednesday inked an agreement on boosting cooperatio­n in civil aviation. The deal covers safety procedures, sharing informatio­n, digital cargo and smart security.

The agreement was signed by Head of Kuwait’s Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac and IATA Regional VicePresid­ent for Africa and the Middle East Mohammad Al-Bakri.

The deal will pave the way for joint cooperatio­n which benefits Kuwait in the fields of airports management, aviation security and others, Sheikh Salman told KUNA in a statement.

He added that the deal is in line with Kuwait’s 2035 vision.
