Investigate expat woman working in Hawally Municipality: minister
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Walid AlJassem has requested the Director of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Manfouhi to take the necessary legal action and refer the complaint filed by employees of the Violation Removal Department in the Hawalli Governorate to the Legal Department concerning an expatriate in Hawalli Governorate Municipality branch who reviews all documents without legal basis during official working hours, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a letter, Al-Jassem urged Al-Manfouhi to review all papers and documents related to the department’s activities and indicate the legality of the woman’s presence at one of the municipality’s departments during official working hours, nature of the work entrusted to her and the legal basis for assigning any work to her, if any.
A group of employees at the Violations Removal Department in Hawalli Governorate Municipality had submitted a formal complaint to concerned authorities, inquiring about the validity of the department head’s claim that the expatriate was appointed in the department by a private company that signed contract with the municipality, and serves as secretary to the head of department. She has access to all documents in an illegitimate manner, and during the coronavirus pandemic, she was found working in a cafe that had been issued a citation by inspectors.
Meanwhile, in a third investment deal this month, Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) resolved the guidelines for concluding a new investment opportunity in the form of a traditional heritage market in Sabah Al-Ahmad City similar to the Mubarakiya Market in partnership between the public and private sectors, according to rules and regulations in this regard, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Informed housing sources revealed that the Deputy Director General for Private Sector and Investment Affairs Hadeel Bin Naji will visit Sabah AlAhmad City on Wednesday to conduct an introductory meeting with the investor to find out the opportunity and the form of implementation, indicating the market opportunity is in the service axis of the city on 30,000 square meters area.
The same sources stated that the opportunity for the heritage market in Sabah Al-Ahmad city witnessed a series of stages that began with a contract on May 24, 2018 by a consulting office to conduct study and offer investment opportunity through reviewing feasibility studies.
They indicated the investment sector at Public Authority for Housing Welfare works mainly in activating the partnership between public and private sectors by proposing viable and bankable partnership structures, in accordance with the State’s strategy and objectives of the development plan.
