Brawl in Al-Rai

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Po­lice have taken into cus­tody sev­eral peo­ple who had gath­ered in front of a car agency in Al-Rai for at­tack­ing securityme­n, re­ports AlRai daily.

The daily added, ac­cord­ing to a state­ment is­sued by the In­te­rior Min­istry, a copy of which has been ob­tained by the daily, when the Op­er­a­tions Room of the Min­istry of In­te­rior re­ceived a re­port that some peo­ple had gath­ered in front of the car agen­cies a po­lice force was dis­patched to main­tain law and or­der.

The po­lice re­port­edly re­quested the crowd more than once to leave the place peace­fully, but they al­legedly at­tacked the po­lice and were sub­se­quently ar­rested and taken to a po­lice sta­tion.

The main in­sti­ga­tor is al­legedly wanted by the law and he was not car­ry­ing any iden­tity doc­u­ments at the time of the in­ci­dent. The daily did not say what was the cause of the gath­er­ing and the brawl.

The state­ment said, the Min­istry of In­te­rior will not tol­er­ate any­one who tries to break the law, or com­mit acts that vi­o­late public se­cu­rity, and it also calls on cit­i­zens and res­i­dents to stay away from legally crim­i­nal gath­er­ing, and to abide by the laws and pre­ven­tive health mea­sures is­sued by the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters.”


The daily added the drug ad­dict was found sleep­ing on the side­walk of a road in Salwa.

The sus­pect was ar­rested af­ter some peo­ple no­ti­fied the In­te­rior Min­istry. When the man came to his senses, he ad­mit­ted to con­sum­ing a kind of chem­i­cal sub­stance.

Drifter ar­rested: Po­lice have ar­rested an uniden­ti­fied reck­less drifter for en­dan­ger­ing his life and the lives of oth­ers at a petrol sta­tion, re­ports Al-Rai daily.

The ve­hi­cle has been im­pounded and taken to the Min­istry of In­te­rior garage.
