Brawl in Al-Rai

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Police have taken into custody several people who had gathered in front of a car agency in Al-Rai for attacking securityme­n, reports AlRai daily.

The daily added, according to a statement issued by the Interior Ministry, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report that some people had gathered in front of the car agencies a police force was dispatched to maintain law and order.

The police reportedly requested the crowd more than once to leave the place peacefully, but they allegedly attacked the police and were subsequent­ly arrested and taken to a police station.

The main instigator is allegedly wanted by the law and he was not carrying any identity documents at the time of the incident. The daily did not say what was the cause of the gathering and the brawl.

The statement said, the Ministry of Interior will not tolerate anyone who tries to break the law, or commit acts that violate public security, and it also calls on citizens and residents to stay away from legally criminal gathering, and to abide by the laws and preventive health measures issued by the Council of Ministers.”

The daily added the drug addict was found sleeping on the sidewalk of a road in Salwa.

The suspect was arrested after some people notified the Interior Ministry. When the man came to his senses, he admitted to consuming a kind of chemical substance.
