KUWAIT: A leading strategist said that the recent adoption of the 2016-2017 development plan ahead of the projected budget was an unprecedented step, noting that the plan is distinguished “with a lot of new features necessary for continuous planning development.” Suad Al-Awadh, the director of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development’s plans and programs section, said in a statement yesterday that the plan was prepared and endorsed ahead of the budget, “and that is unprecedented. It was also developed so that it would be easy to follow.” The plan, in its new approach, includes challenges that face each sector and means to overcome them. Awadh, who indicated that new methods have been adopted for the 2017-2018 strategy, said projects are divided into three categories; tactical ventures “of high impact,” essential projects such as building infrastructural facilities and sectors namely roads and water networks and operational ones that are related to the department responsible for venture’s execution. — KUNA
