EGOV3 Fo­rum opens to­day un­der Prime Min­is­ter’s pa­tron­age

En­gi­neer Magdi Sabri, head of the or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee an­nounced the start to­day of the EGOV Fo­rum for the 3rd con­sec­u­tive year - In­for­ma­tion Man­age­ment and Se­cu­rity - un­der the pa­tron­age of His High­ness the Prime Min­is­ter Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah. The Fo­rum will be in­au­gu­rated by Min­is­ter of State for the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters Af­fairs and Chair­man of the Cen­tral Agency for In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Mubarak Al-Ab­dul­lah Al-Sabah at 6 pm in Mar­i­ott Court­yard Ho­tel’s Ar­raya Ball­room, in the pres­ence of gov­ern­ment and leg­isla­tive per­son­al­i­ties with a host of lead­ers and spe­cial­ists from the State In­for­ma­tion Sys­tems de­part­ments.

Com­ment­ing on this an­nual event, Sabri said that the EGOV Fo­rum, which is be­ing held for the third con­sec­u­tive year, had at­tracted in the pre­vi­ous two years top tech­nol­ogy com­pa­nies which had al­ready sketched the tra­jec­tory of the EG world­wide and is look­ing to­day to lead­ing the new stage ush­ered by the In­ter­net for Ev­ery­thing phe­nom­e­non which will take the whole world to un­prece­dented and unimag­in­able di­men­sions, when all things, work pro­cesses and peo­ple will be­come di­rectly, in one way or an­other, con­nected to the in­ter­net.

Ex­ec­u­tive man­agers

Sabri wel­comed the ex­ec­u­tive man­agers from in­ter­na­tional com­pa­nies such as EMC, IBM, Mi­crosoft, FireEye, Fortinet, Cisco and Unify. The Fo­rum hosts this year a num­ber of lo­cal com­pa­nies which have dis­tin­guished them­selves re­gion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally such as ITS And Knet.

Sabri added: “The EGOV3 fo­rum tack­les two main top­ics that greatly im­pact the de­vel­op­ment of EG pro­grams in Kuwait and other coun­tries, namely, In­for­ma­tion Man­age­ment and In­for­ma­tion Se­cu­rity. The In­ter­net for Ev­ery­thing phe­nom­e­non dom­i­nates th­ese two is­sues through the var­i­ous di­men­sions it im­poses on the large data bases anal­y­sis sys­tems, Cloud com­put­ing, mo­bile smart phones or so­cial me­dia and oth­ers that form the ba­sis of the in­for­ma­tion struc­ture nec­es­sary for the EG pro­grams. The Smart Cities topic is strongly present in th­ese pro­grams in or­der to en­sure an ac­tive pop­u­lar par­tic­i­pa­tion and a wide pro­vi­sion of govern­men­tal ser­vices in all walks of life.

New hori­zons

Sabri added that the NoufEXPO team was proud to or­ga­nize this event and co­op­er­ate with the Cen­tral Agency for In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy in hold­ing the Fo­rum. He added that the as­sis­tance of all govern­men­tal agen­cies in this ef­fort drives the role of the Agency and the EG pro­grams to­wards new hori­zons that serve the progress and de­vel­op­ment in the State of Kuwait, es­pe­cially be­cause the In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy is a vi­tal fac­tor in at­tract­ing the pro­duc­tive work force among the youths in par­tic­u­lar and in strength­en­ing the na­tional econ­omy with new sources of in­come. Sabri con­cluded his state­ment by thank­ing the com­pa­nies, the in­sti­tu­tions and the spe­cial­ists who helped in con­ven­ing the Form as well as the guests from out­side the State of Kuwait.
