Bayt Abdullah honored in Dubai
DUBAI: Heads of Kuwait Association for Children in Hospital (KACCH) at Bayt Abdullah (hospice) Dr Hilal AlSayer and his wife Margaret Al-Sayer were awarded the “Takreem Arab Achievement Awards” for their efforts, providing medical care to children.
The award was presented to the officials late Saturday, in a ceremony held in Dubai by the Lebanon-based Takreem organization, specialized in honoring prominent and creative Arab figures. The organization’s delegation visited Bayt Abdullah and closely monitored the medical services and care provided for children with terminal illnesses, Hilal AlSayer, who is also Board Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society said. He added that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah provided the land where the house (or bayt in Arabic) was build and inaugurated under his patronage in 2012.
Bayt Abdullah is specialized in easing the suffering of terminal children patients and providing them with medical care in their last days. The center, stretching over 22,000 square km, includes wards for mothers to stay with their sick children, and offers 24-hour medical care including in-home services. It also contains entertainment areas, study halls, pool, theater, musical and artistic activities, a library, mosque, restaurant and pharmacy. —KUNA
