Bayt Ab­dul­lah hon­ored in Dubai

DUBAI: Heads of Kuwait As­so­ci­a­tion for Chil­dren in Hos­pi­tal (KACCH) at Bayt Ab­dul­lah (hospice) Dr Hi­lal AlSayer and his wife Mar­garet Al-Sayer were awarded the “Takreem Arab Achieve­ment Awards” for their ef­forts, pro­vid­ing med­i­cal care to chil­dren.

The award was pre­sented to the of­fi­cials late Satur­day, in a cer­e­mony held in Dubai by the Le­banon-based Takreem or­ga­ni­za­tion, spe­cial­ized in honor­ing prom­i­nent and cre­ative Arab fig­ures. The or­ga­ni­za­tion’s del­e­ga­tion vis­ited Bayt Ab­dul­lah and closely mon­i­tored the med­i­cal ser­vices and care pro­vided for chil­dren with ter­mi­nal ill­nesses, Hi­lal AlSayer, who is also Board Chair­man of Kuwait Red Cres­cent So­ci­ety said. He added that His High­ness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah pro­vided the land where the house (or bayt in Ara­bic) was build and in­au­gu­rated un­der his pa­tron­age in 2012.

Bayt Ab­dul­lah is spe­cial­ized in eas­ing the suf­fer­ing of ter­mi­nal chil­dren pa­tients and pro­vid­ing them with med­i­cal care in their last days. The cen­ter, stretch­ing over 22,000 square km, in­cludes wards for moth­ers to stay with their sick chil­dren, and of­fers 24-hour med­i­cal care in­clud­ing in-home ser­vices. It also con­tains en­ter­tain­ment ar­eas, study halls, pool, theater, mu­si­cal and artis­tic ac­tiv­i­ties, a li­brary, mosque, restau­rant and phar­macy. —KUNA
