Bayt Ab­dul­lah chief: Award fruit of ef­forts over 25 years

DUBAI: Head of Kuwait As­so­ci­a­tion for Chil­dren in Hos­pi­tal (KACCH) at Bayt Ab­dul­lah Dr Hi­lal Al-Sayer said Sun­day win­ning the ‘award of ex­cel­lence’ in health and chil­dren was fruit of ef­forts, and per­sis­tence, ex­erted over 25 years.

In a news con­fer­ence held for the win­ners of the “Takreem Arab Achieve­ment Awards’ dis­trib­uted in a cer­e­mony held late Satur­day at­tended by UAE’s Min­is­ter of Cul­ture, Youth, and So­cial De­vel­op­ment Sheikh Nahyan Al-Nahyan, Sayer said Mar­gret Al-Sayer, his wife and the as­so­ci­a­tion’s di­rec­tor, con­trib­uted greatly to es­tab­lish­ing Bayt Ab­dul­lah and win­ning the award of ex­cel­lence. Sayer, who is also Board Chair­man of the Kuwait Red Cres­cent So­ci­ety, added that Bayt Ab­dul­lah started its work with one room in a hos­pi­tal and evolved un­til it has be­come a match­less institution in the Mid­dle East. He ear­lier added that His High­ness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah pro­vided a plot of land on which the house (or bayt in Ara­bic) was built and in­au­gu­rated un­der his pa­tron­age in 2012.

Bayt Ab­dul­lah is spe­cial­ized in al­le­vi­at­ing suf­fer­ing of chil­dren pa­tients and pro­vid­ing them with med­i­cal care in their last days. Bayt Ab­dul­lah con­sists of wards to help moth­ers stay with their sick chil­dren, and of­fers 24 hour med­i­cal care in­clud­ing in-home ser­vices. —KUNA
