MoH pro­duces aware­ness film on traf­fic ac­ci­dents

KUWAIT: The Min­istry of Health (MoH) has pro­duced and pub­lished on YouTube web­site a short movie to raise peo­ple aware­ness about the dan­gers of non-abid­ance by traf­fic rules. The clip pub­lish­ing co­in­cides with the World Day of Re­mem­brance of Road Traf­fic Vic­tims (WDR), Chair­per­son of the MoH’s Me­dia Of­fice Dr Ghaliya Al­Mu­tairi told KUNA.

She pointed out that the WDR is com­mem­o­rated on the third Sun­day of Novem­ber each year - to re­mem­ber the many mil­lions killed and in­jured on the world’s roads, to­gether with their fam­i­lies, friends and many oth­ers who are also af­fected. It is also a Day on which the world thank the emer­gency ser­vices and re­flect on the tremen­dous bur­den and cost of this daily con­tin­u­ing dis­as­ter to fam­i­lies, com­mu­ni­ties and coun­tries, and on ways to halt it, she said. Mu­tairi un­veiled that the In­te­rior Min­istry’s Traf­fic Depart­ment fig­ures have shown that 99,000 traf­fic accident took place in Kuwait in 2014 and left over 461 peo­ple dead. She urged all rel­e­vant bod­ies to launch a na­tion­wide cam­paign to raise peo­ple, par­tic­u­larly youth, aware­ness about the dan­gers of dis­obey­ing traf­fic and safety rules as a ma­jor fac­tors for the grow­ing num­ber of road ac­ci­dents.
