Kuwait Times - - LOCAL -

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health is hard at work to face antimicrobial resistance via upgrading relevant policies and protocols, and monitoring as well as continuous awareness and training, a senior official has said.

This is all being done in line with the work plan of the World Health Organization (WHO), Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs Dr Majda AlQattan said yesterday. Qattan’s statement comes on the occasion of the first World Antibiotic Awareness Week, 16-22 November 2015, under “Handle antibiotics with care.” She noted that antimicrobial resistance has come to constitute a global challenge, referring to the role of hospitals’ labs and anti-infectious teams to discover resistant microbes.
