In­te­rior Min­is­ter lauds state se­cu­rity of­fi­cers

KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and Min­is­ter of In­te­rior Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah re­cently paid a visit to the state se­cu­rity depart­ment’s head­quar­ters, where he was re­ceived by the min­istry’s Un­der­sec­re­tary Lieu­tenant Gen­eral Suleiman Al-Fa­had, As­sis­tant Un­der­sec­re­tary for Do­mes­tic State Se­cu­rity Af­fairs Ma­jor Gen­eral Es­sam Al-Nah­ham and se­nior state se­cu­rity com­man­ders.

The visit was mainly ded­i­cated to thank state se­cu­rity of­fi­cers for their con­stant ef­forts that had re­cently led to ar­rest­ing a ter­ror­ist cell, the min­istry’s Re­la­tions and Se­cu­rity Me­dia Depart­ment said in a state­ment. Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Al-Khaled also con­veyed the trust that the po­lit­i­cal lead­er­ship has in state se­cu­rity agents, and stressed that such trust should serve as an in­cen­tive for them to ex­ert more ef­forts in safe­guard­ing Kuwait’s na­tional se­cu­rity.

On Thurs­day, the In­te­rior Min­istry an­nounced bust­ing a six-mem­ber in­ter­na­tional cell that was send­ing air de­fense sys­tems and funds to the Is­lamic State (IS) group.
