Interior Minister lauds state security officers
KUWAIT: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah recently paid a visit to the state security department’s headquarters, where he was received by the ministry’s Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Al-Fahad, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic State Security Affairs Major General Essam Al-Nahham and senior state security commanders.
The visit was mainly dedicated to thank state security officers for their constant efforts that had recently led to arresting a terrorist cell, the ministry’s Relations and Security Media Department said in a statement. Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled also conveyed the trust that the political leadership has in state security agents, and stressed that such trust should serve as an incentive for them to exert more efforts in safeguarding Kuwait’s national security.
On Thursday, the Interior Ministry announced busting a six-member international cell that was sending air defense systems and funds to the Islamic State (IS) group.
