Se­nior of­fi­cial files defama­tion charges

KUWAIT: The head of the stan­dards de­part­ment at the Traf­fic Gen­eral De­part­ment was in­sulted and de­famed by anony­mous per­sons on the in­ter­net. He filed a com­plaint at Ru­maithiya po­lice sta­tion. The com­plaint was for­warded to the elec­tronic crimes de­tec­tives to find out the iden­tity of the sus­pects.

Man swin­dled

A man fell vic­tim to a swindler who made him be­lieve that an in­dus­trial lot be­longed to him, and took KD 120,000 from the him and es­caped. The vic­tim told Naeem po­lice that a man was sup­posed to hand him over the lot but did not. De­tec­tives are work­ing on the case.

Threat

A woman ac­cused a per­son who was driv­ing a lux­ury car of chas­ing her in Salmiya and en­dan­ger­ing her life when she did not stop, as he tried to force her to do so. She gave po­lice the car’s li­cense plate num­ber and they are work­ing on the case.

Driver mugged

A driver was stabbed by a pas­sen­ger and robbed in Abu Hal­ifa. The driver went to Abu Hal­ifa po­lice sta­tion with a med­i­cal report stat­ing that he had a stab wound in the hand. He said a man pulled a knife and asked him for his money, and when he re­fused, he was stabbed and the money was taken. De­tec­tives were asked to in­ves­ti­gate.

Drunk driver ar­rested

Ah­madi traf­fic pa­trol ar­rested a drunk driver who was driv­ing a Truck. Mo­torists called po­lice and told them that the driver was en­dan­ger­ing their lives, so pa­trol of­fi­cers were sent and forced him to stop. The driver was charged with driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol and en­dan­ger­ing peo­ple’s lives.

Cash stolen

A man told Fahd Al-Ah­mad po­lice that his car was bro­ken and KD 1,700 and doc­u­ments were stolen from it. Crim­i­nal ev­i­dence men lifted fin­ger­prints and Ah­madi de­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

Armed rob­bery

A gro­cer was robbed of KD 310 by two per­sons who threat­ened him with a knife. A se­cu­rity source in Maidan Hawally said the vic­tim gave the de­scrip­tion of the two as de­tec­tives were asked to find and ar­rest them.

‘Miss­ing’ girl found

A woman was ar­rested in Sharq late at night, af­ter po­lice stopped her and found she was miss­ing for 12 days, as a case was lodged at Salmiya po­lice sta­tion. The girl was sent to the rel­e­vant po­lice sta­tion for pro­cess­ing, who handed her to her fam­ily.

Shop­per as­saulted

Two men beat a woman in­side a co-op so­ci­ety with­out an ap­par­ent rea­son, ac­cord­ing to her state­ments. The woman filed a com­plaint at Salam po­lice sta­tion.
