KUWAIT: The Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO) sponsored the Closing Ceremony of the 32nd Conference of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students - USA Branch (NUKS-USA), which gathered more than 3,500 students.

Addressing the students, Eman Al Awadhi, KIPCO’s Group Communications Director said: “As part of KIPCO’s commitment to help create a sustainable economy through investing in a skilled national workforce, its management provides young people with the fundamental principles of personal development and the resources to help you reach your full potential and become tomorrow’s achievers.”

“You are the shapers of Kuwait’s future, and we believe in your ability to make that future a bright one. The private sector offers diverse career opportunities that can help you develop your skills and knowledge so that you can positively contribute to your personal and your country’s development,” she added.

This is the fifth year that KIPCO is supporting NUKS-USA’s annual conference as a Platinum Sponsor. Taking its commitment to support Kuwait’s young people to the next level, KIPCO companies offered career opportunities to select graduate candidates from top US universities. Burgan Bank - KIPCO’s largest investment - and United Facilities Management - KIPCO’s property management arm and a subsidiary of United Real Estate - interviewed students for positions in the two companies after graduation.

KIPCO also organized a workshop aimed at preparing students to enter the Kuwaiti workforce upon graduation. The workshop, ‘Campus to Corporate’, was tailored specifically for this purpose by the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at the American University of Kuwait, and was facilitated by a team of professionals from Burgan Bank.

During the interactive two-hour session, the trainers helped participants explore their personalities and values and relate them to the career choices they make. They also discussed the transition of a graduate’s mindset from campus to corporate culture, as displayed through preparing resumes and leveraging networking skills. The session also included tips on how to manage communication, body language and navigating through interviews. The participants were presented with certificates of completion from the CCE at the conclusion of the workshop.
