Me­dia Fo­rum kicks off

KUWAIT: The Arab Me­dia Fo­rum kicked off yes­ter­day un­der the aus­pices of Min­is­ter of State for Cabi­net Af­fairs Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Ab­dul­lah Al-Mubarak AlSabah. The ac­tiv­i­ties of the fo­rum in­clude a va­ri­ety of train­ing cour­ses for deal­ing with the me­dia, tech­nol­ogy and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills. Sec­re­tary-Gen­eral of the Fo­rum Madhi Al-Khamees said on the side­lines of the fo­rum that was held at the Arab Plan­ning In­sti­tute that this event comes to re­it­er­ate the Fo­rum’s be­lief in the im­por­tance of the re­la­tion­ship be­tween me­dia, tech­nol­ogy and com­mu­ni­ca­tion and their dif­fer­ences. AlKhamees added that the pro­gram in­cludes 200 trainees from the me­dia, aca­demics and spe­cial­ists, whose lec­tures are given by 18 train­ers in the ar­eas of me­dia, tech­nol­ogy and com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuwaiti Am­bas­sador Musaed Saleh Al-Thuwaikh yes­ter­day sub­mit­ted his cre­den­tials to Philip­pines’ For­eign Sec­re­tary Per­fecto Yasay. Yasay hailed the strong re­la­tions ty­ing his coun­try with Kuwait, wish­ing the new Kuwaiti diplo­mat suc­cess in his mis­sion. AlThuwaikh ex­pressed Kuwait’s will­ing­ness to en­hance bi­lat­eral re­la­tions with the Philip­pines in var­i­ous fields. —KUNA
