OIC emer­gency meet­ing

JED­DAH: The Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Is­lamic Co­op­er­a­tion (OIC) has in­vited mem­ber states to an emer­gency meet­ing for the ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee at the level of per­ma­nent del­e­gates at OIC’s Gen­eral Sec­re­tariat head­quar­ters in Jed­dah to dis­cuss the de­te­ri­o­rat­ing hu­man­i­tar­ian sit­u­a­tion in Aleppo. The OIC’s Sec­re­tariat Gen­eral said in a state­ment that it re­ceived a re­quest from Kuwait, Pres­i­dent of the 42nd ses­sion of the Coun­cil of For­eign Min­is­ters, to hold the meet­ing. The Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee con­sists of a troika that in­cludes Egypt, Turkey and Gam­bia. The For­eign Min­is­ters troika in­cludes Kuwait, Saudi Ara­bia and Uzbek­istan, in ad­di­tion to the Sec­re­tariat Gen­eral.
