Kuwait as­sists de­vel­oped, un­der­de­vel­oped na­tions

GENEVA: Kuwait has fi­nan­cially con­trib­uted to a special UN fund for aid­ing de­vel­oped and un­der­de­vel­oped coun­tries, namely those in­hab­it­ing small is­lands. The vol­un­tary con­tri­bu­tion was given by Kuwait’s Per­ma­nent Del­e­gate to the UN head­quar­ters in Europe, Am­bas­sador Ja­mal Al-Gh­neim yes­ter­day, to the special fund, af­fil­i­ated to the United Na­tions Higher Com­mis­sioner for Refugees. The to­ken pay­ment ($10,000) was granted to those needy peo­ples in line with the State’s lead­ing role in sup­port­ing small coun­tries. Am­bas­sador Al-Gh­neim mean­while re­vealed that all mem­ber states of the UNHCR took part, for the first time, in the June UNHCR ses­sion.
