Kuwait assists developed, underdeveloped nations
GENEVA: Kuwait has financially contributed to a special UN fund for aiding developed and underdeveloped countries, namely those inhabiting small islands. The voluntary contribution was given by Kuwait’s Permanent Delegate to the UN headquarters in Europe, Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghneim yesterday, to the special fund, affiliated to the United Nations Higher Commissioner for Refugees. The token payment ($10,000) was granted to those needy peoples in line with the State’s leading role in supporting small countries. Ambassador Al-Ghneim meanwhile revealed that all member states of the UNHCR took part, for the first time, in the June UNHCR session.
