Amir condoles with Sisi over Sinai attack victims
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolence to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi over the victims of the “terrorist” attack that targeted a security checkpoint in North Sinai Governorate.
His Highness the Amir expressed Kuwait’s strongest condemnation to such heinous terror acts that attempt to create insecurity and instability in the region. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent cables of similar sentiment.
Yesterday, some fifteen militants and 12 military personnel were killed in clashes in Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate at a security checkpoint. Other six army personnel and a number of militants were also injured.
Earlier yesterday, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in North Sinai, Egypt, on Friday. The State of Kuwait reaffirms support to Egypt and backs all measures the Egyptian authorities might take to preserve the country’s stability and security, an official at the Ministry said.
Kuwait maintains its principled stance against all forms and manifestations of terrorism whatever the justifications might be. The official expressed sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the people and government of Egypt. — KUNA
