Kuwait sports to be im­proved dras­ti­cally: Sheikh Sal­man

Sports in Kuwait will be dras­ti­cally im­proved re­gion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally in the fore­see­able fu­ture, Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion and Min­is­ter of State for Youth Af­fairs Sheikh Sal­man Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah said yes­ter­day.

Sheikh Sal­man made this re­mark to the press dur­ing a cer­e­mony to honor Kuwaiti ath­letes who par­tic­i­pated in the Rio 2016 Olympics. He added that de­spite the chal­lenges im­posed on Kuwait, ath­letes have been able to ex­cel in many sport­ing events. Hon­or­ing those sports­men by the lead­er­ship is an in­di­ca­tion to the great ap­pre­ci­a­tion given to them, he added.

Head of Kuwait Bank­ing As­so­ci­a­tion Ma­jid Al-Ajil, whose as­so­ci­a­tion or­ga­nized the par­tic­i­pa­tion of Kuwaiti ath­letes to the Olympics, said that sup­port­ing sports is the so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity. Dou­ble trap shooter Fa­had Al-Di­hani, skeet shooter Ab­d­u­al­lah Al-Rashidi and 100-me­ter wheel­chair racer Ah­mad Al-Mu­tairi all were present at the cer­e­mony and they all ex­pressed their ap­pre­ci­a­tion to be part of these in­ter­na­tional sport­ing events where they scored high records.
