‘Small Mer­chant’ Fo­rum

KUWAIT: The Man­power and Gov­ern­ment Re­struc­tur­ing Pro­gram (MGRP) an­nounced Thurs­day the launch of the third edition of “Small Mer­chant” Fo­rum in co­op­er­a­tion with the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and DACUM Acad­emy for Con­sult­ing and Train­ing. The fo­rum aims at de­vel­op­ing the con­cept of self-em­ploy­ment and en­cour­ag­ing mid­dle and high school stu­dents to cre­ate their own small projects, Ban­dar AlRashed, MGRP As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary Gen­eral for Man­power Af­fairs, said in a press con­fer­ence. Al-Rashed stressed the event’s im­por­tance in in­still­ing work val­ues and ini­tia­tive spirit in stu­dents, adding that it also aims at rais­ing stu­dents’ aware­ness and en­cour­ag­ing them to cre­ate and or­ga­nize their projects in ac­cor­dance with sound sci­en­tific fun­da­men­tals, and un­der su­per­vi­sion of ex­perts in projects field in or­der to build a promis­ing gen­er­a­tion with ideas and achieve­ments. The fo­rum also tends to hone the stu­dents’ char­ac­ters and grow in­side them the love for self-em­ploy­ment, serv­ing their coun­try and com­mu­nity, break­ing the fear bar­rier, and bear­ing the re­spon­si­bil­ity through prac­ti­cal prac­tices and abil­ity to deal with the needs of mar­kets, com­modi­ties, prof­its, and earn­ings, he said.
