Info Min­is­ter un­der­scores pri­vate me­dia’s role

Pri­vate tele­vi­sion sta­tions in the State of Kuwait play a ma­jor role in news re­port­ing and guid­ing cit­i­zens and pro­mot­ing their con­cerns, Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion and Min­is­ter of State for Youth Af­fairs Sheikh Sal­man Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hu­moud Al-Sabah said yes­ter­day.

Sheikh Sal­man, dur­ing a re­cep­tion of di­rec­tor of Al-Kout tele­vi­sion chan­nel, Mo­ham­mad Al-Sayegh, urged the pri­vate me­dia, namely the tele­vi­sion sta­tions, to back the State in­for­ma­tion ap­pa­ra­tuses in cov­er­ing forth­com­ing par­lia­men­tary elec­tions.

Sep­a­rately, Sheikh Sal­man re­ceived Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of the Kuwait Touris­tic En­ter­prises Com­pany (TEC) Ab­dul­wa­hab Al-Mar­zouq, dis­cussing co­op­er­a­tion for pro­mot­ing tourism in the coun­try. Kuwait has the po­ten­tial to de­velop this sec­tor and turn it into a tourist at­trac­tion, he said. — KUNA
