Fam­ily at­tacker ‘not ex­trem­ist’: Po­lice

The Min­istry of In­te­rior’s re­la­tions and se­cu­rity in­for­ma­tion depart­ment said a 35-year-old Saudi and his mother told Su­laibiya po­lice they were at­tacked by his brother with a knife, and ac­cused him of hav­ing ex­trem­ist ideas. Po­lice ar­rested the ac­cused and ques­tioned him, and au­thor­i­ties con­cluded what took place was a do­mes­tic dis­pute. They said the sus­pect is un­sta­ble and he was re­ferred to de­ter­mine his men­tal con­di­tion. Ear­lier re­ports based on un­con­firmed in­for­ma­tion had spec­u­lated that the sus­pect could have acted from ex­trem­ist mo­tives.

Gang­sters caught

Far­waniya de­tec­tives ar­rested a nine-mem­ber gang that stole from sev­eral shops. The ar­rests were made fol­low­ing com­plaints about the thefts, and all were reg­is­tered against uniden­ti­fied per­sons. Pa­trols in­ten­si­fied their ac­tiv­i­ties, and with the use of an un­der­cover source, the cul­prits were iden­ti­fied and ar­rested. They con­fessed to com­mit­ting sev­eral crimes.


A Kuwaiti born in 1978 was ar­rested for hav­ing sev­eral un­li­censed firearms and am­mu­ni­tion. Weapons de­tec­tives ar­rested the sus­pect in Jahra with two pis­tols, a shot­gun and am­mu­ni­tion. The man was taken to the proper au­thor­i­ties for fur­ther ac­tion.

KUWAIT: The re­in­force­ment brigade at Kuwait Na­tional Guard car­ried out an ex­er­cise re­cently at the Adaira Square, in which live ammo were used. Pro­tec­tion and Re­in­force­ment Com­man­der Ma­jor Gen­eral Faleh Faleh at­tended the drill.
