Zain concludes an­nual breast can­cer aware­ness cam­paign

Zain, the lead­ing telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions com­pany in Kuwait, an­nounced the suc­cess­ful con­clu­sion of its ninth an­nual breast can­cer aware­ness cam­paign in part­ner­ship with the Min­istry of Health’s Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram and Al-Seef Hospi­tal. The cam­paign fea­tured a num­ber of aware­ness ac­tiv­i­ties that were con­ducted through­out the month of Oc­to­ber.

Zain suc­cess­fully con­cluded its an­nual cam­paign with the end of the glob­ally cel­e­brated month of breast can­cer dur­ing Oc­to­ber. The cam­paign mainly aimed at spread­ing pos­i­tive aware­ness about breast can­cer preven­tion through so­cial me­dia in col­lab­o­ra­tion with its part­ners. The cam­paign strongly re­flected the com­pany’s Cor­po­rate Sus­tain­abil­ity and So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity strat­egy to­wards the health sec­tor.

Zain com­mu­ni­cated a num­ber of in­for­ma­tive mes­sages through so­cial me­dia, fea­tur­ing Head of the Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram Dr Hana Al Khuwari as well as Sur­gi­cal on­col­o­gist and gen­eral sur­geon at Al-Seef Hospi­tal Dr Nuha Al Saleh. The mes­sages cov­ered the top­ics of the im­por­tance of early de­tec­tion and preven­tion through mam­mo­gram tests.

Zain also en­gaged its em­ploy­ees in the aware­ness cam­paign by com­mu­ni­cat­ing aware­ness videos on a weekly ba­sis, or­ga­niz­ing an in­for­ma­tive sem­i­nar fea­tur­ing Dr Hana Al Khuwari and Dr Nuha Al Saleh, or­ga­niz­ing a so­cial visit to the Min­istry of Health’s Kuwait Can­cer Con­trol Cen­ter, as well as or­ga­nize an in­ter­nal event in col­lab­o­ra­tion with In­spire Fit­ness to raise the aware­ness of the im­por­tance of sports and a healthy life­style in the preven­tion of breast can­cer.

As part of its re­spon­si­bil­ity to­wards the health of its em­ploy­ees, Zain cov­ered the costs of Mam­mo­gram screen­ings for em­ploy­ees and their rel­a­tives in co­op­er­a­tion with Al Seef Hospi­tal, as well as of­fered them free screen­ings in cor­po­ra­tion with the Kuwait Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram at the Min­istry of Health.

Zain was keen on strate­gi­cally part­ner­ing with lead­ing health­care providers, both pub­lic and pri­vate, such as the Min­istry of Health’s Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram and Al Seef Hospi­tal, to en­rich its steps into in­form­ing the pub­lic through the ex­per­tise of these or­ga­ni­za­tions’ ex­perts, spe­cial­ists, and con­sul­tants.

Zain’s solid Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity and Sus­tain­abil­ity strate­gies pri­mar­ily fo­cus on the well­be­ing of the en­tire na­tion. For that rea­son, the com­pany has main­tained its sup­port to all kinds of ini­tia­tives that spread aware­ness and help make a dif­fer­ence. Zain has pre­vi­ously part­nered with the World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion (WHO), co­op­er­ated with the Min­istry of Health, and part­nered with the Kuwaiti Red Cres­cent for sev­eral aware­ness cam­paigns re­lated to the health sec­tor.
