Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa continues to embrace October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month in Kuwait with a series of month-long activities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program. In support of this cause, Kuwait’s idyllic resort has partnered with the American Women’s League (AWL) as the Gold Sponsor of their annual Breast Cancer Awareness event “Fight like a Girl”.

Hosted in Badriah, the largest ballroom in Kuwait, the event was held in the presence of His Excellency the American Ambassador’s wife Victoria Silverman, Vice President of the American Women’s League Lynda Van Greenstone together with board members, Executive Committee of Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, special guests and the wider local community with around 600 guests. The occasion commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a speech by honorable guest Victoria Silverman and a welcoming speech by General Manager Hakan Petek quoting:

“Every year we mark this cause by changing our resort’s lights to pink to express moral support to women with breast cancer. This evening, we are honored to host you in Badriah, hoping to maximize the opportunity of this seminar to gain a wide perspective on Breast Cancer and to promote a message of hope. For the 2nd consecutive year, we are delighted to sponsor The American Women’s League as we are determined to embolden women and men by spreading our mission of hope and the charitable goodness of people who observe this cause.”

Following the speech, an exciting raffle draw was conducted for guests. In keeping with the global commitment to drive this initiative, Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa lights up its faÁade and interior in shades of pink every year to highlight the importance of this cause and to draw attention to early screening and detection of Breast Cancer.
