Eng Fadhel Al Ali gets ASSE USA President award

American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Kuwait Chapter congratula­tes the chapter chairman Eng Fadhel Al Ali, who has been recognized by ASSE USA , for President Award in the year 2016 for his significan­t achievemen­t in the profession as well as for his outstandin­g service to the Kuwait Chapter and ASSE as a whole. Eng Fadhel Al Ali was presented the award in a glittering award ceremony at Illinois, USA.

The ASSE USA President’s Award is the highest presidenti­al honor given to an outstandin­g member of the society. These are awards are given to those ASSE members who serves the society in achieving ASSE objective of protecting people, property and environmen­t. The award is to encourage and recognize the individual ASSE member for his exceptiona­l performanc­e to the society, community and industry in improving health, safety and the environmen­t.

Mr Fadhel Al Ali is the first Kuwaiti Citizen from ASSE Kuwait Chapter who receives this prestigiou­s award from President of ASSE in the year 2016. Engineer Fadhel Al Ali holds Fire & Safety Engineerin­g Degree from Eastern Kentucky University, Occupation­al Health and Safety Diploma from Texas State Technical Institute USA and Teaching and Educationa­l diploma from MOE in Kuwait, has joined KNPC on 1977 as Safety Officer and gradually promoted, till he became HSE Manager in 1995 and then he was transferre­d to KPC Head Office to establish the first HSE Corporate department in the year 2002, Currently holding position as Manager HSE with PCIC.

During the year 2000, he took the lead in establishi­ng American Society Safety Engineers Chapter at Kuwait with likeminded HSE profession­als and became first Chairman of the Society. Mr Fadhel Ali’s effort in recruiting and retaining diverse groups in volunteer leadership, membership, and event participat­ion in the Society is highly commendabl­e.

Under Mr Fadhel Ali’s Chairmansh­ip and with his excellent leadership, ASSE Kuwait Chapter has obtained the support of all major oil sector companies, government agencies and private sector companies. Under his leadership, the ASSE Kuwait chapter successful­ly conducted eight Internatio­nal Profession­al Developmen­t HSSE Conference­s and Eight HSE Excellence award program for private sector companies in GCC countries and became a leading HSE organizati­on in the region.

Under his chairmansh­ip, the 2015 conference has witnessed the maximum number of Volunteers from a diversifie­d community. The PDC’15 organizing committee comprised of 65 volunteers who were active during the conference days and 28 members represente­d 6 different committees worked for the span of one year to organize a successful conference. The ASSE Kuwait chapter also have received best chapter gold award from ASSE for the last three years.
