Fostering children’s cultural skills primary goal
Caring for and fostering children’s cultural skills is a primary goal for the National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), said Bader AlDuweesh, the Council’s assistant secretary general on Tuesday. Representing Information Minister and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman AlSabah, who is also Chairman of NCCAL, Duweesh said in a press release that the fifth children festival; organized by Dhuwa AlYaddah Centre, materializes the Council’s strategy that aims at establishing partnership between civil society and the private sector in a bid to sustain the cultural movement in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Director of the Center Abdulmohsen Al-Sanee said in a speech at the opening of the festival that the target demographic (youngsters) are the center’s main interest, channeling their energies towards what is useful. The festival, lasting until November 5, is taking place at Abdulaziz Hussein Cultural Center. It will have workshops, seminars and entertainment programs for children, including the ones with disabilities. Established in 2009, Dhuwa Al-Yaddah Centre is a volunteering entity that aims at preserving Kuwaiti heritage.
