GCC mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties con­sider Kuwait-pitched sug­ges­tion

RIYADH: Gulf Co­op­er­a­tion Coun­cil (GCC) Min­is­ters of Mu­nic­i­pal Af­fairs will im­ple­ment a sug­ges­tion made by Kuwait to form a uni­fied strate­gic struc­ture, Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of Kuwait’s Mu­nic­i­pal­ity Ah­mad Al-Man­fouhi said yes­ter­day. In a state­ment to KUNA af­ter the con­clu­sion of the 20th meet­ing of GCC min­is­ters of mu­nic­i­pal af­fairs, AlMan­fouhi un­der­scored the need to “im­ple­ment this cru­cial and vi­able sug­ges­tion.” More­over, he noted that the idea deals with bor­der ar­eas, where a pend­ing study of these ar­eas will be con­ducted by the Saudi Min­istry of Mu­nic­i­pal and Ru­ral Af­fairs, one that will go a long way to en­sure sol­i­dar­ity amongst GCC na­tions.
