Min­istry signs KD 97.7m road in­fra­struc­ture deal

KUWAIT: The Min­istry of Pub­lic Works signed yes­ter­day a con­tract at a cost of KD 97.7 mil­lion for work on a sew­er­age sys­tem in Saad Al-Ab­dul­lah road, with a time­frame of 36 months. The project aims to fa­cil­i­tate the flow of traf­fic in the area, Un­der­sec­re­tary of the min­istry’s Road Con­struc­tion De­part­ment Ah­mad Al-Has­san said in a state­ment to the press. More­over, he noted that the project en­tails build­ing a road that stretches on 27.5 kilo­me­ters, in ad­di­tion to four over­passes and a rail­way bridge.

On the project, Has­san said that it con­sists of 14.25 per­cent of con­struc­tion work and 67.52 per­cent of in­fra­struc­ture work, with 7 per­cent be­ing elec­tri­cal. Mean­while, he also added that the min­istry pri­or­i­tizes in­fra­struc­ture work, given how cru­cial it is to de­vel­op­ment goals and plans.
