GTRC and Majd Food Com­pany sign new part­ner­ship agree­ment

Majd Food Com­pany has ap­pointed Gulf Trad­ing and Re­frig­er­at­ing Com­pany (GTRC), one of Al­ghanim In­dus­tries’ busi­nesses, as the sole and ex­clu­sive dis­trib­u­tor of the Ma­jdi brand in the lo­cal mar­ket. Ihab Al-Khatib, Vice Pres­i­dent of GTRC, in­au­gu­rated this sig­nif­i­cant oc­ca­sion along­side Ma­jid Ab­doh, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of Majd Food Com­pany. The event took place at the JW Mar­riott in Kuwait City on Novem­ber 2nd and was at­tended by many dis­tin­guished guests from the in­dus­try, key re­tail­ers and the lo­cal me­dia.

GTRC is one of the prom­i­nent and largest Fast Mov­ing Con­sumer Goods (FMCG) dis­trib­u­tors in the lo­cal mar­ket. In 2008, it was ranked as the “num­ber 1” dis­trib­u­tor in Kuwait by AC-Nielsen, an in­de­pen­dent global mar­ket­ing re­search firm.

Majd Food Com­pany, (MFC) owner of the well renowned “Ma­jdi” brand, op­er­ates suc­cess­fully and re­gion­ally in the FMCG field of grind­ing and pack­ag­ing of spices, grains, sea­son­ings and herbs. Since the brand’s in­cep­tion in 1961, MFC has been of­fer­ing a wide range of prod­ucts man­u­fac­tured to the high­est qual­ity stan­dards while of­fer­ing com­pet­i­tive prices that suit dif­fer­ent groups and seg­ments of so­ci­ety.

Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, Ihab Al-Khatib, Vice Pres­i­dent of GTRC, com­mented: “We are ad­ding to our port­fo­lio one of Kuwait’s most de­manded brands-Ma­jdi. We be­lieve our sales or­ga­ni­za­tion has de­tailed knowl­edge of the Kuwaiti mar­ket, and is com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing qual­ity ser­vices to both our cus­tomers and sup­pli­ers, sell­ing to all hy­per­mar­kets, su­per­mar­kets and gro­cery stores that are cov­er­ing ev­ery cor­ner of Kuwait. Our cov­er­age shall also ex­tend to non-tra­di­tional chan­nels such as ho­tels and restau­rants. Uti­liz­ing our ex­ten­sive dis­tri­bu­tion net­work and Al­ghanim In­dus­tries’ cus­tomer-cen­tric ap­proach, our pri­or­ity will al­ways be to sat­isfy our con­sumers’ needs in Kuwait, at all points of sale”.

In par­al­lel, Ma­jid Ab­doh, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of Majd Food Com­pany, stated: “On be­half of Majd Food Com­pany, we are pleased and look­ing for­ward to work­ing closely with a mar­ket leader in the FMCG dis­tri­bu­tion in­dus­try like GTRC.
