Coast­guard of­fi­cer caught with drugs

A coast­guard agent was ar­rested for abus­ing meth and walk­ing around in his uni­form in Hawally with­out real­iz­ing where he was go­ing. The man was taken to the Drug Con­trol Gen­eral De­part­ment (DCGD) for fur­ther ac­tion.

Fa­tal ac­ci­dent

An Asian was killed and five oth­ers, in­clud­ing an Amer­i­can, were in­jured when six ve­hi­cles col­lided into each other along Ab­daly high­way. In other ac­ci­dents, a Ye­meni man was ar­rested for run­ning over a 25-year-old cit­i­zen in Hawally. The cit­i­zen was rushed to hos­pi­tal with var­i­ous in­juries. Mean­while, a 37-year-old Ira­nian was in­jured when he lost con­trol of his bike and col­lided into a cit­i­zen’s ve­hi­cle in Sharq. Sep­a­rately, an Egyp­tian sus­tained a se­ri­ous head in­jury when he lost con­trol of his ve­hi­cle and it turned over along the Sev­enth Ring Road.

Armed rob­beries

A po­lice­man as­signed to guard a sus­pect fac­ing charges in 25 armed rob­beries was de­tained when the sus­pect man­aged to escape from the Jahra prose­cu­tion of­fice, said se­cu­rity sources, not­ing that the po­lice­man was de­tained un­til the bedoon sus­pect turned him­self in.


A drunk cit­i­zen was ar­rested at a shop­ping mall in Ah­madi while he was try­ing to lo­cate his ve­hi­cle in the park­ing lot. Se­cu­rity sources said the man turned out to be wanted for as­sault.

Po­lice­men as­saulted

Three cit­i­zens were ar­rested for as­sault­ing po­lice de­tec­tives who stopped one of them for as­sault­ing a girl in Hawally. An Egyp­tian woman re­ported that an uniden­ti­fied rob­ber stole her purse at a Jleeb Al-Shuy­iukh shop­ping mall. The woman claimed that she had cash and jew­elry in her purse and de­scribed the rob­ber as some­one in sports­wear. A case was filed. A non-Kuwaiti man was ar­rested af­ter he passed out af­ter abus­ing meth, said se­cu­rity sources, adding that the man was found un­con­scious be­hind the wheel in Far­waniya, and that he fi­nally woke up in cus­tody. A cit­i­zen re­ported that some­one broke his ve­hi­cle’s window and stole his wal­let with his IDs and KD 90 in cash, along with a mo­bile phone. Far­waniya de­tec­tives ar­rested three ex­pats for il­le­gally selling meat at their res­i­dence in the most un­hy­gienic man­ner us­ing prim­i­tive tools, said se­cu­rity sources, not­ing that the source of the meat was also un­known. Mean­while, a Sri Lankan man was ar­rested for selling home­brewed liquor in Fa­ha­heel. — Al-Rai and Al-An­baa
