Cop­tic Pa­tri­arch ex­tols Kuwait’s re­li­gious co­ex­is­tence

Pa­tri­arch of the Egyp­tian Cop­tic Catholic Church Ibrahim Isaac said Satur­day Kuwait is a state of re­li­gious and cul­tural co­ex­is­tence. Speak­ing to re­porters upon ar­rival in Kuwait, the pa­tri­arch said Kuwait hosts dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ties, in­clud­ing the Egyp­tian one which en­joys good treat­ment, com­mend­ing the hu­man­i­tar­ian role of His High­ness the Amir who was hon­ored by the UN as “Hu­man­i­tar­ian Leader”.

“This hon­or­ing re­flects Kuwait’s role in dif­fer­ent hu­man­i­tar­ian fields by help­ing dis­as­ter-hit and home­less peo­ple in var­i­ous con­ti­nents in line with all heav­enly re­li­gions in the con­text of world hu­man fra­ter­nity,” he added.

Mean­while, Pa­tron of the Egyp­tian Cop­tic Or­tho­dox Church in Kuwait Anba An­ge­los Ma­soud stressed the sig­nif­i­cance of the pa­tri­arch’s visit to Kuwait where the Egyp­tian com­mu­nity, in­clud­ing Catholic Copts, en­joys an at­mos­phere of cul­tural co­ex­is­tence and re­li­gious free­dom. He said it is the first-ever visit by the Pa­tri­arch of the Cop­tic Catholic Church Ibrahim Isaac to the State of Kuwait. Dur­ing his stay in Kuwait, the pa­tri­arch is ex­pected to meet with of­fi­cials and re­li­gious lead­ers, in ad­di­tion to Catholic Copts liv­ing in this Gulf country. —KUNA
